Father's Day

It’s didn’t stop raining the entire long weekend. I’m not complaining. I actually love this weather! It’s nice to stay indoors and not get out of bed. Matt, on the other hand, prefers going out and playing under the rain.

But since it was Father’s Day on the 20th, we had to go out yesterday. We've been cooped up in the apartment for two days. So how we spent it? Mall. Eat.

Newport Mall. It was small but quaint

Dinner at this cozy restaurant, Mary Grace. The food, especially the ensaymadas and cheeserolls, are absolutely to die for!
letters/notes to the Mary Grace underneath the glass top of the table

cakes, ensaymadas, etc...

happy father's day! he was hungry

matt was actually asking me about bugs
I hope all you daddys out there had a fun celebration :o)

Tuesday evening...

we spent independence day at my parents' house. while having lunch with the family, my uncle says to me and dennis,"the two of you are fat"...then i think he realized it wasn't a very nice thing to say. to make us feel better, he goes "but it's a sign of happiness." right. of course my mom had to agree with my uncle, which then stopped me from getting my second serving. darn it! i really wanted get two more sticks of bbqs and dip it in vinegar filled with garlic and onions. and more rice! grr!

so this evening, dennis and i decided to get fit and jog at the sunken garden in UP. it was a nice surprise to see people there even if it was quite late. joggers/runners, cyclists, some just walking or working out on the side of the road. it felt safe with the roaming guards everywhere.

blurry picture of my boys
it's been a very long time since we jogged or ran. i used to run around the oval 2-3 times. 1 round is 2.5km, so that's 5 - 7.5km. not bad, i'd say. of course, that was then. but i still managed to run 1 round without stopping to catch my breath or walking. however, when i was doing my 2nd round, my shoe fell apart.

was it my running? hahaha! i think my running shoes were stored for the longest time and no longer in good condition for running. hmm...mighty bond should do the trick :o)

i love you...W.O.R.K!

work and i have a love-hate relationship. i do consider myself a slave to the corporate world and lately, feeling absolutely bummed, stressed and not accomplishing much. boo hoo! there's just really a lot of work because there are a zillion things to do. how i wish there was more of me to go around...NOT!

nevertheless, i enjoy what i do. i am happy with the people i work with and consider them as family.

Claw Daddy - this is the most recent picture we have as a group

as i've always told them, we spend 70% of our time in the office and only 30% with our family. with that, i'd like to consider the people i work with as my extended family and not just workmates.

ANZ & SG
...maybe that's why i love them dearly :o)

Earth Day

Halloween 2010

but hey, work is still work...it's just great when you're happy with the people around you. that's my motivation. despite the challenges for the day, i am very fortunate.
We miss you, Ian

the pretty ladies

being goofy during the awarding
okay, this is the first and last i will write anything about work. my blog is supposed to be about my silly and shallow musings. no serious stuff ;o)

Riding Boots

i totally forgot to post this and was in my draft for quite some time. nevertheless, will still post...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
it's been weeks since i wrote anything. as much as i wanted to vent and complain about work, i need to remind myself that the reason i started blogging is to have an outlet and write about positive musings. hard to imagine i couldn't find anything positive to write about in 3 weeks? not really. being a supermommy that i am, i wanted to make up for the hours work kept me from spending time with my boys and folks. from helping to organize a bridle shower, to preparing for mother's day and being a GRO and driver to the clients for three days...it's been packed!
aside from family and friends, as we all know, what keeps me sane is spending time at the stables and having my lessons. i have recently renewed or signed up for another 10 lessons. however, i really need to get proper riding boots. it's unfortunate that the stuff you need for riding are not readily available and it costs to have them shipped to Manila. luckily, another rider recommended johnny air. you can order your stuff from the states and have it delivered to their new york office which then ships it to manila at a MUCH lower shipping cost. from dover to the ny office took roughly 3 days. as soon as my orders were received, it was shipped to manila within 4 days. not bad, huh? was pretty pleased with the service and will probably do it again in the future.
Finally my riding boots...and Matt's rain boots. I love the colors!
Puss in Boots...ehrm...Puss & Boots :o)
